As a region, Baden-Württemberg has one of the strongest economies and enjoys one of the highest standards of living not only in Germany but in the whole of Europe. It is home to many of the world’s innovative market leaders. Baden-Württemberg also has one of Europe’s lowest rates of unemployment. Global Players like Daimler, Bosch, SAP, ZF, Stihl, Kärcher are headquartered in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The United States are Baden-Wuerttemberg’s most important international trading partner. This special relationship started right after the second world war, when Baden-Wuerttemberg became the center of the American Zone with the U.S. headquarter in Heidelberg - today AHP International’s second office location in Germany (next to the Corporate Headquarters in Berlin). Industrial companies from Baden-Wuerttemberg keep investing in North America. They add value in dynamic markets such as the digital economy, industry 4.0, the internet of things, healthcare, medical, pharma, energy management, logistics and of course every aspect of state-of-the-art mobility from automotive to aerospace. Baden-Wuerttemberg is one of the strongest U.S. export markets in Europe and home to hundreds of U.S. corporations.

The LVI is Baden-Wuerttemberg’s leading Industry Association covering the whole range of industries. Members are corporations as well as associations like the Baden-Wuerttemberg branch of the German Association of Machine and Plant Engineering VDMA (Europe’s largest Industry Association). In addition to being the political voice of the state’s industry and an employer’s association, the LVI engages itself in globally networking the industry of Baden-Wuerttemberg. The LVI’s activities are as global as the state’s industry. Next to the United States the LVI is active in China, Mexico, Russia and India, to name a few. The LVI is the regional member of the BDI, the Association of German Industry.

Stefan Peikert, Managing Partner & Founder of AHP International Inc., has been appointed as the first official representative of the LVI in North America. He covers the U.S. East Coast and the Mid-West. His most important task is to strengthen the ties of U.S. corporations, business leaders, industry networks, associations and with the industry in the South-West of Germany. He serves the LVI and its members in developing the business throughout the United States. Stefan is the first point of contact for any North American inquiries or offers to the LVI and its members.
